Meet our Senior Leadership team

Jonny Heaver

Founder and Director, Consultant and Tutor of English, Business and Economics, Drama, KS2 Studies and Entrance Examinations
Since graduating with a first-class honours degree in English with Placement from the University of Liverpool, I have been focused on elevating and evolving Achiever Tutoring, whilst saying true to its strengths. This has involved appearing in series 19 of BBC’s ‘The Apprentice’, growing my incredible team, delivering talks across the country and, of course, refining my craft as a tutor with my students. In my free time, I love travelling, socialising and being on the beach with my dog Buster! My tutoring approach follows the basic principle: if a student enjoys learning, they will learn. I therefore aim for my sessions to ignite a passion for the subject before refining skills and pushing for success.

Hannah Palliser

Deputy Director, Bursar and Tutor of History, Politics, Religion and Philosophy and KS3 English
Since graduating with a 2:1 honours degree in History and Philosophy from University of Liverpool, I have progressed within Achiever to become its Deputy Director and Bursar. In my free time, I love to read, run, socialise, and travel, getting the most out of my schedule! When tutoring, I approach my sessions with passion for whichever topic I am tutoring. I enjoy hearing my students' perspectives and learning how they understand a certain topic, giving it a fresh new perspective. Building confidence within my students is the ultimate goal within my sessions, to have them academically flourishing by the end of the year.

Belle Maggs

Assistant Director (STEM & 11+), DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) and Tutor of Maths. Science, Primary Studies, 11+ and Early Years.
Since graduating with a first class Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of Kent, I have progressed within the company to become Achiever's Assistant Director and DSL. In my free time, I like to run, go to the gym and read, as well as everything that comes with owning a horse. As one of Achiever's longest serving tutors, I have always taken a relaxed and patient approach to learning which helps create a good healthy relationship between the student and the subject. As DSL, I take everyone's wellbeing and safety as the utmost priority and it is amazing to see everyone flourish under Achiever's tuition and guidance.
Harmony Dawson

Harmony Dawson

Head of Arts and Humanities and Tutor of English, French, History, KS2 Studies and 11+
I have been with Achiever since the summer of 2023 and in that time I have seen  the confidence of my tutees grow. I have loved being able to build connections with students and my fellow tutors and am excited that I am able to share my passion for English and History as the Arts and Humanities lead. I am currently completing a BA in English and History at Royal Holloway University. I love to explore new places and write about my adventures. My style of tutoring is focussed on questioning and exploration; I encourage my students to vocalise their ideas and processes to look deeper than surface level.
The tutors my daughter has have been fantastic in building confidence and expanding knowledge, the 1 to 1 sessions are a really good way for my daughter as she struggles talking in large groups. Thank you to all her excellent tutors for encouraging her progression.

Meet our Tutors

A fresh perspective is a game changer when it comes to your child’s learning.

What makes Achiever special is our team. All tutors are personally known and trusted by Jonny and the leadership team. Unlike larger agencies, our team genuinely cares about who they are working with. This leads to more accountability, more trust between tutors and ultimately - better sessions. The fact that all of our tutors are young means that they have been in the students' shoes not so long ago. Mark schemes are fresh in tutors' minds, they are up to date with the latest educational developments and it means a one-of-a-kind rapport is created. Young people teaching young people really works. Our results, reviews and testimonials prove it.

We reach out to tutors we want on board and trust our team's recommendations as opposed to accepting ad hoc applications. We like it this way around. It means all tutors are known as well as trusted.

Our tutors create achievers. We get to know our students and use common interests to spark a passion. We start generally to distinguish gaps in knowledge and then zoom into those areas in need of focus.

Tutors will build confidence, build a one-of-a-kind rapport and create an exciting professional relationship inspiring students to learn. A-Level Maths, counting to 10, Shakespeare's soliloquies or learning to read: our tutors have got you. You're in safe hands.
